Beaune overview

Beaune Travel Guide
The medieval city of Beaune is a Mecca for wine enthusiasts. As the home of some of the greatest white wines and some superlative reds it is not hard to see why. Although the vineyards are not as stunning as those of the Rhone or as majestic as those in Bordeaux they are worth a brief tour if only to see where some of the most expensive grapes in the world are grown. The town itself is all about wine and it is well worth booking a tour of one of the larger wineries to get an insight into how much work goes into producing each bottle. The Hotel Dieu is probably the most famous building in the town and there are superb restaurants serving a fabulous range of wines. It is probably advisable to book a hotel room before venturing off for a bit of a tasting though.
